April Conference: Student Debt and Financial Aid – What (if anything) Can We Do?

The next CHERE conference will explore innovative strategies to address student debt and financial aid – an increasingly challenging issue facing schools, students and families in Connecticut and nationwide. The featured speaker for the program will be Sandy Baum, independent policy analyst for The College Board and Senior Fellow at the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

Congress recognizes dedication to improving lives

David Johnston of the Connecticut-based Center for Higher Education Retention Excellence (CHERE) has been selected as a 2013 Angels in Adoption award recipient. The award is given on behalf of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) to those who have demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent, loving homes.

“First-Year Experience: What Works and Why” will be the focus when Housatonic Community College hosts a day-long workshop sponsored by the Center for Higher Education Retention Excellence on September 27 in Bridgeport.
